Equipment
Game used hockey equipment is hard to come by. While people generally save things like jerseys and sticks, items like helmets, pants and pads are generally either discarded or donated to amateur or youth leagues for use by their players. In addition to being hard to find, these items are often difficult to accurately date and identify due to the lack of any distinguishing characteristics.
In February of 2002 I was fortunate enough to pick up a couple of boxes of old equipment used by the Seattle Totems in the 1973-75 era. Inside were skates, shorts, some gloves, a helmet and some other odds and ends (including two cups...). The original source of these items was a gentleman with a long association with the team, and I know that they are legit.
Below is a sampling of the items from this "find", along with a couple of other oddball pieces of equipment that I've had for some time. The images have been thumbnailed to speed up the loading of the page.
Some great old goalie equipment. The chest protector
belonged to Dan Brady.
I can't be certain who used the glove and blocker.
